Goldberg & Connolly is pleased to announce that Partner Erik A. Ortmann spoke at the Contract Claim, Notice and Recordkeeping Requirements - Key Issues, Concerns & Best Practices Seminar hosted by the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA). The event took place on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at The Inn at Fox Hollow in Woodbury, NY.

In this new era of notice hypersensitivity, Mr. Ortmann explained contract and legal issues related to claim notice and recordkeeping, damages for delay, change orders and extra work claims, releases for payment, and project closeout.

Other seminar discussion topics included best practices regarding claim notice, recordkeeping and related contractual issues, requirements and challenges. The program detailed effective methods to assess risk before bidding and entering into a contract, and ways to maximize the success of claims for extra work, changed conditions and delays.
