Goldberg and Connolly’s Erik A. Ortmann to Speak at CFMA Panel Discussion on Fraud and Compliance Issues Facing the Construction Workplace

Goldberg & Connolly is pleased to announce that Partner Erik A. Ortmann will speak at a panel discussion hosted by the New York City Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) entitled, Fraud and Compliance Issues Facing the Construction Workplace. The event will take place on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 8:30 a.m. at the Huntington Hilton located at 598 Broadhollow Road in Melville, New York.

Mr. Ortmann will join Geri Gregor, Consulting Partner at Grassi & Company, and Thomas A. McShane, President, Investigations & Monitoring Guidepost Solutions, LLC on a panel moderated by Stephen C. Bongiorno, Chief Financial Officer at Ruttura & Sons Construction.

Panelists will engage in an in-depth discussion of what constitutes fraud, offering insight on avoiding many common compliance pitfalls plaguing the construction industry. The session will also provide an overview of fraudulent practices in the construction industry and will include valuable information and strategies for navigating an increasingly regulated workplace. Accountants who participate in the program will be eligible for two CPE credits.

Erik A. Ortmann, a LEED® Green Associate, is a Partner at Goldberg & Connolly and a member of the firm's Construction Law and Commercial Litigation Groups. He is on the board of the LI Chapter of the Construction Financial Management Association and is actively involved in the law and legislation committee of the General Contractors Association.
