Managing Partner Henry L. Goldberg Leads Seminar on M/WBE & DBE Good Faith Compliance at Subcontractors Trade Association General Membership Meeting

Goldberg & Connolly is pleased to announce that the firm held an informative seminar at theSubcontractors Trade Association (STA)Annual Membership Meeting on June 26, 2013. The seminar focused on the "Good Faith" compliance in the utilization of Minority/Women Business Enterprise and Disadvantaged Business Enterprise entities, a pivotal topic among the contracting community.

The seminar was presented by Goldberg & Connolly's Managing Partner and STA Legal Counsel Henry L. Goldberg.

Attendees gained a basic understanding of their responsibilities and obligations in regards to complying with the utilization of M/WBE and DBE entities, especially with the implementation of Local Law 1 on July 1st, which will greatly expand the M/WBE program in NYC. Mr. Goldberg provided comprehensive coverage of M/WBE and DBE compliance topics particularly relevant to the construction industry and the advantages associated with employing these entities. The discussion also included information regarding certification and requirements, goals, good faith compliance, penalties and communication with agencies and authorities.
