Theresa Brennan Murphy is the Senior Litigator in our Construction, Insurance Coverage and Litigation Practice Groups. Ms. Murphy brings over twelve years of litigation experience to the firm.

As partner for the last eight years at the prominent national firm, Cozen O'Connor, Ms. Murphy's practice consisted of representing Fortune 500 companies, large contractors and subcontractors in sophisticated commercial litigation matters, including Labor Law 240 defense and complex insurance coverage issues. Consistent with this experience, Ms. Murphy is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Homesite Insurance Company of New York, a national property and casualty insurance company.

Recently, she successfully represented Tishman Construction in the numerous lawsuits involving personal injury, property damage and loss of business claims resulting from the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center.

In addition to her professional responsibilities at Cozen, Ms. Murphy also functioned as the pro bono coordinator for its New York offices, and was recently honored by Legal Services for New York City for her successful representation of immigrant clients seeking permanent residence under the Violence Against Women Act.

Prior to her tenure at Cozen, Ms. Murphy was a litigator at Ohrenstein and Brown, LLP and Cullen and Dykman.

Ms. Murphy is admitted to practice in the courts of the State of New York, the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. She graduated in 1991 from Iona College, cum laude, with a B.B.A. in Finance and received her J.D. in 1995 from Brooklyn Law School.
